Back to that scale…
I seem to have lost 3 lbs fast – officially at 209 lbs and change with more coming off. I do miss beer and have to admit that I caved the other night and had one…
In a serendipitous occurrence, one of the companies that I have bought life insur…
WOW!
I’m wiped. Exhausted. Bushed.
But what an incredible weekend! As I mentioned earlier, I was catapulted from simple stage hand to full fledged stage manager. My venue – “The Barn”. It is literally a barn complete with…
Are you going to talk the whole time?
Really?
Is there a ruder way to ask someone to be quiet?
Have basic manners really become that rare?
So, I’ve been at the Vancouver Island Music Festival all day. Volunteering. No, that doesn’t do it justice, I’m going to boast a little, I am the stage…
Something new…
I need to lose some weight. Probably 15 to 20 lbs to get to my “ideal”. So, since I have this blog anyways, I will be torturing you all with my progress. Don’t worry, I will still have equipment reviews and silly adventures, they will…
New Front Page Picture
I’ve finally changed the front page pic, and in honour of Troy Brosnan winning the iXS Downhill Cup at Leogang, its a photo I shot of the Flinders Range in Australia in 2004. Enjoy!
12 Hours of Cumberland
This year is the third year in a row that I’ve raced the 12 hour – always on a four person team mind you. 3 hours of riding spread over a full day at top speed after getting up at 6 am is enough for me!

Moving
I know, I know. I’ve disappeared again. Well, I’ve been moving. Out of the rental into a new and much nicer HQ for Citizenclass (and permanent too). That’s not all – I’ve rented out half of the mancave!! Oh – the horror!&n…
HAMMERFEST!!!
Probably the funnest mountain bike race I have ever done, and one I plan to do until I can’t ride a bike anymore. I was off my time a little from last year, but considering that I had three times the amount of riding in by this time of year in 20…
The “Why”
Welcome to the home of Braxton Consulting (a.k.a. Andrew Gower).
Before we get on with blog posts, philosophical ramblings, and reviews/reports on equipment I am looking at, let’s talk about me and why the hell I am doing this site anyways.
I get things stuck in my head that need to come out. I also do some gear reviews and testing on the side. This page provides me the platform to say what I am thinking, and pass on things I learn about life. Originally focussed on gear reviews and advenetures, the path I have been following has diverged somewhat, so now you will hear about many topics – all shared with passion.
