I have come to realize that my tribe is in a bit of a minority…
There are facts to support this too!
We don’t buy a new car every five years, if ever.
We all try to ride…

Mt. Albert Edward

Why do we climb mountains?
It is really a completely redundant and pointless endeavour. It supplies no basic needs, and doesn’t advance the human race.
Yet we do it. In fact, on the labour day weekend of this 2013th year AD, me and 106 other people cli…

Thursday

I’m still at the office. I am writing this post out of commitment to my goal of a blog a week. Right now, I am struggling with my finances – working out how I will pay the bills and then pay the bills that pay the bills. Fun (not).

Can you share a memorable anecdote from you…

Elevating Chaos

This has been a rather stressful week. Transitioning from my idyllic weekend in farmland Saskatchewan, Monday hit harder than a ten ton truck.
A couple of years ago, I was the stage manager for the ‘Barn’ at the Vancouver Island Music Festival. I thoug…

The “Why”

Welcome to the home of Braxton Consulting (a.k.a. Andrew Gower).

Before we get on with blog posts, philosophical ramblings, and reviews/reports on equipment I am looking at, let’s talk about me and why the hell I am doing this site anyways.

I get things stuck in my head that need to come out. I also do some gear reviews and testing on the side. This page provides me the platform to say what I am thinking, and pass on things I learn about life. Originally focussed on gear reviews and advenetures, the path I have been following has diverged somewhat, so now you will hear about many topics – all shared with passion.
