2011 Devnici Wilson Quickhit
This is a break from our regular winter programming. Under normal circumstances I would be telling you all about skiing powder and other shenanigans at Mt.Cain. However, I am going to be aiming a little high this year, and am using last wee…
Strength
Over at NSMB.com, I am a regular visitor to the bulletin board. Especially the “NBR” or “non-biking related” section. There’s a thread about the Canucks and how they need more “toughness”. Well – the whole discussion got me to thinkin…
Remebering Chris
Today is Remembrance Day in Canada. A day that started with the signing of the armistice at the end of the first world war. An armistice which, ironically, pretty much guaranteed that there would be a second world war…

Arc’teryx Altra 65 Backpack – First Look
So, just a first look for now as I honestly haven’t used this bag enough to really review it. The Arc’teryx website describes the Altra 65 as a “lightweight, multi-day trekking backpack”. I’m not sure that description does it justice.

Crossroads
Well. I have managed to find some spare time. Somehow, the day before Car Free Sunday, probably one of the craziest, biggest things I have ever tried to pull off, I am at home, my son is playing in his room with one of his buddies, and I ha…

Catching up
Well, it’s 4:19 am and I am wide awake. Been that way since about 10 minutes to 2. I have a lot on my mind, so what better way to try and get back to sleep than to “blog-dump” it!
We stopped at this nice pond after climbing the Bedwell tra…
Bedwell-Cream Lake
Just some photo’s for now. Went and did a quick overnight into Strathcona Park with Tree. Hiked up Bedwell Trail to Big Bedwell Lake Saturday. Camped for the night and then day tripped over to Cream Lake. Headed back out Sunday …
The “Why”
Welcome to the home of Braxton Consulting (a.k.a. Andrew Gower).
Before we get on with blog posts, philosophical ramblings, and reviews/reports on equipment I am looking at, let’s talk about me and why the hell I am doing this site anyways.
I get things stuck in my head that need to come out. I also do some gear reviews and testing on the side. This page provides me the platform to say what I am thinking, and pass on things I learn about life. Originally focussed on gear reviews and advenetures, the path I have been following has diverged somewhat, so now you will hear about many topics – all shared with passion.
