I’m wiped. Exhausted. Bushed.
But what an incredible weekend! As I mentioned earlier, I was catapulted from simple stage hand to full fledged stage manager. My venue – “The Barn”. It is literally a barn complete with horse stalls, that hay-ee smell and rafters. To top it off, the artistic director decided that he wanted to see how many people and instruments could be put on one stage when he was coming up with the schedule!
The least we had was four – the most was 15 including two bass guitars, a keyboard, two full drum kits and 11 other assorted musicians with everything from cello’s to electric slide guitars.
Two full drum sets, 15 musicians and all 32 channels on the board full!
That’s how it looked on stage.
Goofing of backstage while the Lee Boys rocked the barn!
My trusty deputy, Janice, hamming it up for the camera!
Its been just over a year since I started this blog, and some of my first ‘real’ posts were from Music Fest last year. I can’t believe its over and I can’t wait for it to happen again. There is something really powerful being a part of VIMF. Working with all of the other volunteers, the production crew and of course the musicians is pretty incredible. I hadn’t heard of most of the acts who were on my stage, but to a person they were amazing. And Devon Sproule, I’m kinda in love with you…
And what a year! I have to be honest, I love my life. I am really beginning to feel like I can accomplish some significant things with my life. I’m not talking about making lots of $$ – I’m talking about changing the world.
It will all come together September 25th…
